Privacy policy
Draft template. Have it reviewed before launch.
This policy explains how Market Signal ("we") handles personal information, consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
What we collect
- Information you give us in sign-up and contact forms: your first name, email address, the topic you're interested in, your buying timeframe if you choose to share it, and your consent choices.
- If you use the Home Loan Readiness Check: your name, email, timeframe, and either your income, living costs, debts, credit limits and deposit (buying) or your loan balance, rate, term and property value (existing loan). If you ask for a broker call, your mobile number and best time to call.
- If you build a property strategy: your contact details, state, buying structure, budget, deposit, buffer, the weekly amount you could contribute, your goals, preferences and age bracket. We don't ask for your income, tax position or existing loans.
- Basic, aggregated website usage information through analytics tools.
Why we collect it
- To send you the resource you asked for and the newsletter you subscribed to.
- To send related emails matched to the topic you chose.
- If you built a property strategy, to prepare it, email it to you, and contact you about it in the ways you agreed to.
- If you said we could phone you, to call you about your strategy.
Who we share it with
We use service providers to run the website, forms and email (for example our hosting and email platforms), which may store data outside Australia. We do not sell your information. We only disclose your details to a mortgage broker or other professional with your express consent, and we tell you about any referral fee first.
Unsubscribing and your choices
Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also ask us at any time to access, correct or delete the information we hold about you.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
